1.  A whole lot of questions failed to contain enough information.

For example the question what does dT / dt mean on a certain question.  The dT/dt is preceding by modifying phrases that explain what it means.  Most likely those phrases boil down to something like 'the rate of change of temperature with respect to clock time is dT/dt'.

So there's more to say about the problem, and that info needs to be included in your question.

Having see what needs to be included in your question, you will understand a lot more about the problem.  You might still have a good question about it, but having posed the question you'll have learned something and be better prepared to understand the answer.

2.  A lot of other questions (e.g., how do you expand the binomial, how do you interpret bugs on trees) were asked Friday and answers are posted.

3.  To interpret the area of a trapezoid, ask yourself what a rectangle on this graph would mean.  To figure out what the area of the rectangle means, you have to figure out what is length means, and what its 'altitude' means.

4.  Q.  If you have T = L^.5, and you find T, how do you find the frequency?

A.  T is given by this formula in seconds.  We counted pendulum frequencies in half-cycles / minute.  If you know how many seconds, then how do you find how many times the pendulum oscillates in a minute?  Simplify the problem by using a simple number for T (not 0 or 1, both too simple, but just about anything else can work).

5.  Q.  I need the pendulum data model.

A.  There's a lot of data on the graph I handed out Monday.  Assume those tiles are a foot square.

6.  To carry a calculation out to a lot of decimal places use DERIVE (see notes on questions from last time)
