Determine the acceleration of an object whose velocity is initially 24 cm/s and which accelerates uniformly through a distance of 66 cm in 3.8 seconds.
66cm/3.8seconds = 17.368cm/sec = vAve
vAve = (vo+vf)/2
17.368 = (24cm/sec + vf)/2
34.736cm/sec=24cm/sec + vf
10.736cm/sec = vf
a= (vf-v0)/'dt
= (10.736cm/sec - 24cm/sec)/3.8
= -3.49cm/sec^2
