Assignments 101013
It is a standing assignment that you submit the `q questions from the Class Notes and labs.
Submit queries on work and energy:
All students should work through or otherwise be sure to understand the problems and solutions in Introductory Problem Set 4. Most, but not all of these problems are fairly straightforward and simple, and they should give you a good perspective on Chapter 3, and on the upcoming chapter on impulse-momentum.
See also the Notes from Class link and the Lab Activities link.
Lab Assignment:
Using ball, ramp and TIMER design the best investigation you can of the following question:
- To what extent is the acceleration of a ball moving down a fixed ramp, supported by 2 'flat' dominoes, independent of position on the ramp and on velocity?
Using the Submit Work Form, and the title 'Uniformity of Acceleration on a Fixed Ramp', explain how you intend to investigate this question. Include a specific description of how you will set up your system, what you will measure and what you will time, and describe in detail how you will time it.
This should be completed by Monday.
