Week3Quiz2

course Phy 201

Determine the acceleration of an object whose velocity is initially 24 cm/s and which accelerates uniformly through a distance of 66 cm in 3.8 seconds.

First we find the vAve by taking 66cm/3.8s=17.4m/s

With uniform acceleration we know v0,vf,and vAve is spaced equally so that gives us a vf of 10.8m/s. Now we can get `dv by

subtracting v0 from vf which is 13.2m/s. with taht we can find aAve which is 13.2m/s/3.8s=3.5m/s^2"

Good, but note that the change in velocity and therefore the acceleration is negative.
