Practice Tests Accuracy

I am wondering how similar we can expect the practice tests to be. I of corse am working out all of the problems assigned in the chapter, but I was wondering if I can assume to give even more attention and focus to those problems similar to the ones I work on the practice tests? Any advice would be appreciated.

The key to preparation is to solve the assigned text problems. There is no shortcut to solving a large number of varied problems.
If your preparation has prepared you for the practice test, you should expect to do about as well on the real test.
The test and the practice test cover the same material, in that they cover the same sections of the text. However there are probably 50 different questions that could be asked about a typical chapter, with at least 20 different topics any of which could be tested with 2 or 3 different types of problems, and there are only 6-8 questions on a given test.
My estimate is that any two tests on a given chapter for this course will overlap between 50% and 60%.
If your preparation is mostly focused on the practice test, you will probably be less prepared for the test you get.
