A typical automobile coasts up a typically paved incline, stops, and coasts back down to the same position.
When it reaches this position, is it moving faster, slower or at the same speed as when it began? Explain

Faster because it will be coming down the hill with gravity.
&&&&&&& Friction is pushing against the car as it goes up the hill unlike when the car is coming down when gravity over forces the friction which allows it to speed up.&&&&&

Gravity is a conservative force. It exerts exactly the same forces as the car travels down as when it travels up.
Going up, gravity slows the car. Coming down, gravity speeds it up.
What other forces act and what is their effect on the motion?
