I believe it's because that it is simpler to multiply the hours and the dollars together.

I didn't actually get it right at all. I usually thought that dividing the cost is a bit more confounding than actually multiplying, because I find multiplying easier to perform than division. I've never been good at division. I could do multiplication, addition, and subtraction, but when it comes to division or a difficult equation, I begin to freeze and start panicking about how to remember to do them, but I usually get them wrong because I panic.
