First Question:

average velocity = change in displacement/ change in time

= (20cm – 10 cm)/( 9 seconds – 4 seconds)

= 10 cm / 5 seconds

= 2 cm / sec

average velocity = change in position / change in time. Displacement is change in position so

average velocity = displacement/ change in time.

It is not the case that

average velocity = change in displacement/ change in time.

You are steadily improving in your use of definitions. Develop the habit of being completely specific. You're just about there.

Second Question:

(40 cm/sec – 10 cm/sec) / 3 seconds

= 30 cm/sec / 3 seconds

= 10cm / sec

Your units aren't right.

I don't know whether your solution is otherwise correct. Neither of us will be able to make sense of this posting if your answer isn't inserted into a copy of the question. Fortunately that will be easy for you to correct (see below).

Third Question:

d = vt

d = 5 cm / second x 10 seconds

d = 50 cm
