First Question:
With the given information, the ball’s average velocity would be in the middle between 4 and 10. In this case the average velocity is (4cm/sec + 10cm/sec)/ 2. The average velocity is 7 cm/sec.
Second Question:
We have no idea how long the ball was traveling 4cm/sec and how long it was traveling 10cm/sec. We just know two velocities.
Third Question:
That would mean the object did not travel very far. Strictly from 4cm/sec to 10cm/sec over a time interval of 3 seconds means that the average velocity was 4.667 cm/sec. Average velocity equals change in distance over change in time.
Fourth Question:
4.667 cm/sec
