The problem:
A ball is moving at 10 cm/s when clock time is 4 seconds, and at 40 cm/s when clock time is 9 seconds.
Sketch a v vs. t graph and represent these two events by the points (4 sec, 10 cm/s) and (9 s, 40 cm/s).
answer/question/discussion: I made a computerized graph as well as a hand drawn graph. The graph looks to be increasing at an increasing rate.
Sketch a straight line segment between these points.
answer/question/discussion: The straight line was automatically drawn on the computerized graph. When you say sketch, do you want us to insert these computer based graphs or is it sufficient to draw a graph by hand and then describe it? I personally tend to do better with a hand drawn version if that is acceptable. Also, I dont know how to make the computer based graphs appear when I copy and paste my work.
The description is what I need to see. Unless you have a lot of data points, you'll learn more from a hand sketch, which you can label and annotate, than from a graph the computer does for you.
What are the rise, run and slope of this segment?
answer/question/discussion: Rise = change in velocity (40 cm/s 10 cm/s = 30 cm/s) Run = change in time (9 s 4 s = 5 s) Slope = rise/ run = 30 cm/s / 5 s = 6 cm/s
What is the area of the graph beneath this segment?
answer/question/discussion: Area under the graph = (10 cm/s + 40 cm/s / 2) * (5.0 s) = 125 cm.

Nice work. See my note.
