Introduction

course Mth 279

Good eveing, so far I have thoroughly perused all instructions to this point; I have confirmed that the login information I had was correct; I have submitted a request for my access code after verifying that my VCCS email was functioning; I have opened notepad.exe to begin typing this confirmation. For the rest of the introduction, I hope to be introduced to the methods with which this class will be taught. Specifically, I'm hoping to discover where to find lecture segments, what books I will need, and how work will be submitted. I also hope to find some form of syllabus at some point. For the purposes of this course, I will be using Windows 7 Ultimate with the Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browser, depending on what machine I'm working from at the moment. While I may use a Droid X smartphone to check the status of assignments, I will not be using it much for the purposes of this course. Also, if you don't mind, I expect I will be using LaTeX for most of the work I submit. Of course, this is dependent on both the style of this course and your acceptance of PDF files.

Sorry for all the confusion, but I'm good to go now! =]"

Thanks.

Everything is done in text, which is much quicker than trying to format all expressions. We simply use the order of operations. It takes an hour or so to get used to reading it, but it's very efficient, and it forces us to think a little more about the meaning and structure of an expression.
