course PHY 121

08/04 10:21pmalso could you give me a rough estimate of my lab grade at this point

Since the net force is equal to the sum of the force exerted by the rod and that exerted by gravity we have

net force = rod force + weight

rod force = net force - weight = - .2044 Newtons - (- 14.2982 Newtons) = -.2045 Newtons. ********** I dont understand how -.2044N + 14.2982 is -.2045 I get 14.0938

If we take the upward direction as positive the net force is therefore + .2044 Newtons, and the weight of the object is - 14.2982 Newtons.

Since the net force is equal to the sum of the force exerted by the rod and that exerted by gravity we have

net force = rod force + weight

rod force = net force - weight = .2044 Newtons - (- 14.2982 Newtons) = .2044 Newtons. *******same goes for this problem i dont get .2044 Newtons adding .2044 + 14.2982
