The graph below depicts the range of a water stream as it flows horizontallly out from a uniform cylinder. Construct a good straight-line model for this data and use your model to determine the range of the flow at t = 35 sec. Determine also the time at which the range is 13 cm. The x axis is marked in units of 6 sec and the y axis in units of 17 cm, both starting at (0,0).Interpret both the x and the y intercepts of this graph.

x axis = Time

y axis = Depth of water in cylinder

the x and y intercepts are y=167.994 and x = 40.2728

I used the points (21,69) and (0,167.994)

(170-69)/(0-21)=-4.714

(y-y1)=m(x-x1)

(y-69)=-4.714(x-21)

y= -4.714x + 98.994 + 69

y=-4.714x+ 167.994

13=-4.714x+167.994

13 - 167.994=-4.714x

-154.994 = -4.714x

x= 32.8795

y=-4.714(35) + 167.994

y= 3.004
