Are the assignments given an actual grade or do we just get credit for completing them?
I do not assign a grade to every assignment, but I assign a grade to your portfolio at the end of the term, and this grade counts as your participation grade. If you do the work conscientiously, the participation grade will almost always help your final grade.
After a few assignments you can ask me how you are doing and I'll be glad to give you a more specific idea; I'll also be glad to answer that question periodically during the term.
