A steel ball rolls down a ramp and collides with a marble, as in the video. The marble is slightly smaller and quite a bit less massive than the ball.

• If they both experience the same force, which will have the greater acceleration?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :

#$&* (DVD was messed up. Couldn’t view these files/videos!) I would say that the marble would have the greater acceleration. Just thinking theoretically, if a = F/m, the object with the lesser mass (the marble) would have the greater acceleration in terms of that equation.

• If the forces were exerted during identical time intervals, which would have the greater change in velocity?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :

#$&* (DVD was messed up. Couldn’t view these files/videos!) Again, thinking theoretically, if the marble has a greater acceleration, it will have a greater increase in velocity during the allotted time interval. So I would say the marble would have the greater change in velocity.

My DVDs wouldn't play the files for notes 16-18.

Your reasoning was right on the mark. Good work.
