Test 1 Completed

course Phy 201

3/19 around 5:30

Hi Dr. Smith,

I writing to inform you that my Test #1 has been completed as of this afternoon. I'm not sure if Blue Ridge CC sent my exam to you or faxed it. But I have some questions about my exam.

On my exam, I drew some blanks on #1 and #7. I went over problems resembling these two plenty of times, yet there were still parts of those questions that I was lost on.

On #1 (cart/paper clips system), it was hard for me to actually imagine what the system looked like. It's always easier for me to solve physics problems if I can actually visualize them. So I'm not even sure if I diagramed my system correctly. It's also hard for me to solve for things like acceleration when I'm not given information like the mass.

On #7 (An applied force of 8 N acts in the direction of motion...). I could figure out how to get the 'ds of the system. I got the force, F_net, etc, but I didn't know what to do to solve for the 'dW. I was completely lost for the first part of that question, but I think I recovered on the second part.

I'm just telling you this info so you can understand why there might be a few parts of my exam that make absolutely no sense. I'm a wiz with ALL the projectiles stuff, and I am pretty confident with the Atwood pulley questions, but of course I didn't get a either of those questions. I must have printed off the most unlucky version of the test, considering my strengths on this material. With that considered, if you could please be lenient when grading my exam, I'd much appreciate it. Thanks, and I hope my exam makes it to you fine.

Thanks for the note.

Email me around midweek to check on the status of receipt of your test.
