The institution to which i wish to transfer requires that i take pre-calculus, followed by applied calculus.

While working through Mth 163 this semester I would like to know if there are particular areas i should pay closer attention to that will make for a smoother transition into Mth 271. The only prerequisite for Mth 271 is Mth 163 so i'm sure I will learn what i need to know to succeed in the course, but I'll do what i can to get a head start.

Particular topics I can outline in the syllabus or areas to which I can apply some independent research. I've no calculus background whatsoever so I am apt to build as strong a foundation as possible.

The Precalculus course should give you ample background for the Applied Calculus. All areas are interrelated, and all are important as background for that course.
