An automobile rolls 10 meters down a constant incline with slope .05 in 8 seconds, starting from rest. The same automobile requires 5 seconds to roll the same distance down an incline with slope .10, again starting from rest. At what average rate is the automobile's acceleration changing with respect to the slope of the incline?

answer/question/discussion:

The slope of .05 is traveling 1.25m/sec

The slope of .10 is traveling 2m/sec

The average rate of acceleration change is (1.25+2)/2=1.625m/sec"

@& You have found average velociies on both ramps.

You have not found the accelerations, which you need to know in order to find the requested average rate.

You will need to apply the definition of an avearage rate of change in order to solve this problem.
