course phy 121
course phy 121 I am getting ready to take the first test. Is it possible to have a formula sheet during the test? I am still looking them up everytime I have to use them, and I am not sure I will be able to remember them for the test. My argument is that it is better to be able to use them correctly than it is to actually memorize them.
I don't permit formula sheets on the test. There are in fact only a few formulas need to be memorize; the rest can be derived from the basic formulas.
If you send me a list of the formulas you would put on your formula sheet, I'll be glad to help you structure it in such a way that you can easily related to the basic concepts and remember what is essential, as well as obtain any other formulas you might need.
After I did the on-line practice test I printed out a copy of a test, it was much easier. I think I can remember all of the formulas that were on that test. I still have trouble remembering some of the 4 fundamental equations of motion, but I've got work, force, KE and momentum down pretty well. I have trouble remembering that F*dt is impulse, but I think I can do it. I am going to try and take the test today.
I see that you completed the test. I would bet that you did very well. I'll look forward to seeing it.
