course Phy 231
I am not sure I'm supposed to send this in or if this exercise is for my practice, but here it is just in case. This is:
Introductory Prob Set 2 #1-3.
Answer: 40 m/sec * 1sec*min/5m = 8min.
Problem
The velocity of an object increases by 9 meters per second during its lifetime.
?If the rate of increase is constant, and if during a 1 second observation the velocity of the object is seen to increase by 4 meters/sec, then how long does it live?
Answer: 9 m/s / 4 m/s/s = 2.25 sec.
Problem
During 1 second, the velocity of an object increases by 44 meters/second.
?It is known that the velocity of the object will eventually increase by 5 meters/second.
?If the rate remains constant, how many seconds will be required?
Answer: (5 m/s) / (44 m/s/s) = .11 sec.
On the Introductory Problem Sets the solutions are already provided. You are expected to master these problems in all their detail, but unless you have a question on problem you need not submit anything.
