What are the average acceleration and final velocity of an object which accelerates uniformly from rest, attaining a velocity of 40 cm/sec in 13.6 seconds? How far does the object travel during the 13.6 seconds?
aAve = 294cm/s/s (40/13.6)

40 / 13.6 indicates the right calculation, though units should be included on both of those quantities.
The units of the calculation would be cm/s/s or cm/s^2.
However it should be obvious that 40 / 13.6 isn't 294.

40 x 13.6 = 544cm

Displacement is not in general equal to final velocity * change in clock time.
