Answer the following:
• How accurately do you think you can measure the time between two events using the TIMER program?
I think that the accuracy can be given by time recorded minus reaction time. Since reaction time can not be accurately measured then using the timer program is as accurate as needed for any circumstance.
answer/question/discussion:
• What is the shortest time interval you think you would be able to measure with reasonable accuracy?
I think that an interval could be accurately measured with in half a second due to reaction times. Accurate time would equal recorded time minus reaction time.
answer/question/discussion:
• How does the percent error in timing intervals change as the time between the events gets smaller?
The percent error is larger as the intervals are smaller because there is less room for accuracy than error.
answer/question/discussion:
• How accurately are you able to measure the positions of the ball and the pendulum in the initial video?
I think that the measurements could be accurate to an inch in the video due to the ability to see the ruler markings. The ball cannot be measured as accurately as the pendulum due to the fact that it cannot be seen through at least half of its course.
