Random Problems Assignment 3What are the average acceleration and final velocity of an object which accelerates uniformly from rest, attaining a velocity of 40 cm/sec in 13.6 seconds? How far does the object travel during the 13.6 seconds?

Final velocity should be about 80 cm/s. vFinal = 2*vAve

The average acceleration should be 5.88 cm/s. aAve = vFinal/'dt

The distance should be 544cm. 'ds = vAve *'dt

40 cm/s is the velocity attained during the time interval, not the average velocity on the interval. The velocity attained on an interval is the velocity at the end of the interval.

Both of your answers assume that 40 cm/s is the average velocity. Both are double what they should be.
