Question:R.5.22 (was R.6.18). What do you get when you factor 36 x^2 - 9 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution:

I factored out 9 to get 3 and I factored 36 to get 6 so my final result was

(6x+3)(6x-3)

Question:

R.5.32 \ 28 (was R.6.24) What do you get when you factor x^2 + 10 x + 1 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution: it is prime because I could not find a pair of numbers that when multiplied together equals 1 and when added together equals 10

Question:

R.5.34 (was R.6.30). What do you get when you factor x^3 + 125 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution:

I couldn’t factor it using any of the concepts in section 5 but I used synthetic division with is in section 6 and I got a result of (x+5)(x^2-5x+25)

Question:

R.5.46 (was R.6.42). What do you get when you factor x^2 - 17 x + 16 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution:

I factored 16 out to get 1 and 16 and since when you add together 1 and 16 together to get 17 my final answer was (x-1)(x-16)

*********************************************

Question:

R.5.52 (was R.6.48). What do you get when you factor 3 x^2 - 3 x + 2 x - 2 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution:

I got since 3 times 1 equals 3 and then 2*x = x then I got for my final answer (3x+2)(x-1)

*********************************************

Question:

R.5.64 (was R.6.60). What do you get when you factor 3 x^2 - 10 x + 8 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution:

Since 3x*-2=-6x and -4*x=-4x and -4x+-6x=-10x and -4*-2=8 my final answer is

(3x-4)(x-2)

Question:

R.5.82 (was R.6.78). What do you get when you factor 14 + 6 x - x^2 and how did you get your result?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Your solution:

Since the sums of the factors of 14 witch are (1,14) and (2,7) do not equal 6 my awenser is prime."
