Pearl Pend Bracket Substitute

The L shaped bracket for the pearl pendulum was not included with my lab kit.

Is there an easy replacement or substitute? (i.e. something specific I could pick up at a hardware store) If you do not know of something specific, what are the dimensions to see if I can find something?

I left the bracket out of the package this semester for two reasons. One is the increased price of steel and the desire to keep costs reasonable. The other is that while most students are able to pick up the rhythm of the pendulum at the lengths involved, some aren't, and the experiment works as well if the system is a little longer.
I apparenty failed to post the revised procedure. However it isn't too hard to improvise with the materials in your package.
I've made myself a note to do that tomorrow.
It's been awhile since I actually did this (and videotaped it). Several ways were workable and I don't recall which way ended up working best. But it goes something like this:
Basically, though, the two metal pieces of shelf standard and the metal strap can be formed into an L using any of a number of combinations of rubber bands and/or one or both of the two larger magnets. The shorter piece of shelf standard can be used as a moveable brace between the longer piece and the strap, with these two pieces joined with one of the large magnets at the inside of the L. The 'pearl' can bounce against a domino held against the base with a rubber band. That domino can also provide a bit of added stability.
Obviously I'll give you a little extra time to do the experiment, so if you want to wait for the video it's OK. If you want to get it out of the way, though, I don't think it will be hard or overly time consuming to improvise in more or less the manner described.
