The problem:

A ball is moving at 10 cm/s when clock time is 4 seconds, and at 40 cm/s when clock time is 9 seconds.

• Sketch a v vs. t graph and represent these two events by the points (4 sec, 10 cm/s) and (9 s, 40 cm/s).

answer/question/discussion: the graph had a positive straight line with a positive slope

• Sketch a straight line segment between these points.

answer/question/discussion: the straight line was positive

• What are the rise, run and slope of this segment?

answer/question/discussion: rise=5 seconds, run=30m/s, slope=6m/s

15 minutes

Good, but your rise and run are reversed, and the units of your slope aren't correct. If you use the rise and run you specify, the slope is rise / run = (5 sec) / (30 m/s) = .166... s^2 / m. The correct slope is rise / run = (30 m/s) / (5 s) = 6 m/s^2.
