The problem:
A ball is moving at 10 cm/s when clock time is 4 seconds, and at 40 cm/s when clock time is 9 seconds.
• Sketch a v vs. t graph and represent these two events by the points (4 sec, 10 cm/s) and (9 s, 40 cm/s).
answer/question/discussion: I hand-sketched the graph, I can email it to you if you want it, I don’t understand the reason for this answer/question box.
• Sketch a straight line segment between these points.
answer/question/discussion: ok, did that…
• What are the rise, run and slope of this segment?
answer/question/discussion: Rise is 40-10=30. Run is 9-4=5. Slope is 30/5=6.
• What is the area of the graph beneath this segment?
answer/question/discussion: I turned the graph into a triangle and used A=(B*H)/2 to get 75 cm.

Rise, run, slope, etc. all have units and must be given with units. No need to redo this, because I believe you know what you're doing here, but in the future include units in all phases of all your calculations.
