ball down ramp

Your 'ball down ramp' report has been received. Scroll down through the document to see any comments I might have inserted, and my final comment at the end.

** Your general comment **

** Will a steeper ramp give greater or lesser time? **

It will be least for the steepest ramp

** As slopes increases will time intervals increase, decrease or show no pattern? **

They would be decreasing.

** Your report of 5 trials each way for 1 domino **

The first set of five is from our first ramp and the second set is from out 2nd ramp and these are the times it took for the ball to go down the ramp and hit the bracket.

** Do your results support or fail to support your hypothesis about increasing or decreasing times? **

They support our hypothesis about the relationships because when we added more dominos (steeper), the time decreased.

** How do you think ave velocity is related to slope? **

The average velocity increases as the slope of the ramp increases because the marble travels down the ramp at a faster rate (less time so more velocity)

** Speculate on why ave velocity changes with slope. **

The steeper the slope the farther it is from the ground so the more affect gravity has on it so it travels at a faster rate.

** How could you test your speculations? **

calculate this experiment and find the average velocity and how it changes with changes in slope.
