There are 32 numbers in your distribution.

Their sum is 32.02

Their mean is 32.02/ 32 = 1.000.

The (mean) average deviation from the mean is .1428.

The sum of the squared deviations is 2.366.

The standard deviation is therefore sqrt( 2.366/ 32) = .2719.

I am clearing the text box, pasting the date and hitting the Mean and Standard Deviation button. Why is it showing 32 numbers instead of 30?

@& It looks like you're doing everything correctly, but the results given by the program certainly aren't correct. The mean is clearly greater than 1, and the standard deviation is way lower than what's being reported.

I'll have to check into it.

In the meantime, report the results as the Data Program gives them, and make a note that the program is obviously malfunctioning.*@
