ball down ramp

Your 'ball down ramp' report has been received. Scroll down through the document to see any comments I might have inserted, and my final comment at the end.

** Your general comment **

** Will a steeper ramp give greater or lesser time? **

I believe the time requred to roll the length of the ramp will be least for the steepest ramp.

** As slopes increases will time intervals increase, decrease or show no pattern? **

increasing

These numbers represent the amount of time it took the ball to roll freely down the ramp with one domino from time of release. I gathered this data by simply timing it!

These numbers represent the amount of time it took the ball to roll freely down a ramp with 3 dominoes from the time of release. I gathered this data by timing it.

** Do your results support or fail to support your hypothesis about increasing or decreasing times? **

No, my time trials fully support my hypothesis. The time trials became faster as the slope increased.

** How do you think ave velocity is related to slope? **

the average velocity of the ball IS the slope of the ramp. As the slope increases, the average velocity, or speed, of the ball also increases.

** Speculate on why ave velocity changes with slope. **

The amount of time it took the ball to travel down the slope caused the average velocity to change on each ramp. THe distance of the ramp was the same, but the time it took to roll down the ramp changed with each slope change.

** How could you test your speculations? **

Compare it with everyone else's in the class.
