Week 3 quiz 1 (version 1)Determine the average rate of change of the function y(t) = .5 t 2 + 56 t + -55 between x and x + Δx.
-the average rate of change of the function is delta y/delta x
→ y(x) = .5 (x)2 + 56 (x) + -55
→ y(x + Δx) = .5 (x + Δx) 2 + 56 (x + Δx) + -55 both are changes in y
Finding the change in both of these values y(x + Δx) and y(x) what ever it is. Will be the numerator in the equation (delta y/delta x)
Finding the change in the intervals (x) and (x + Δx) will the be the denominator in the equation (delta y/delta x).

That is the right procedure.
You need to actually write out and simplify the expression, which will result in an expression in terms of x and `dx.
*@
→ substituting both values in the for changes and running the equation (delta y/delta x) will yield the average rate of change for the function.
What are the growth rate, growth factor and principal function P(t) for an initial investment of $ 760 which is compounded annually at 10% interest?
P(t)=760*(1+.1)^t
-Growth rate is .1 or 10%
-Growth factor is 1.1(1+.1)
-t would be in years because it is compounded annually.

Your submissions have a lot of symbols that aren't part of the ASCII character set.
You need to be doing these in a text editor, not a word processor.
If you aren't sure of how to do that, send me a brief but complete description of how you are editing these documents, from the time you highlight them to copy and paste before inserting your solutions, to the time you copy and paste into the form.

The second question looks good.
So does your explanation of the first, but I need to see the simplified expression (in text format per my note below).
