Section 12-2

course Mth 275

Section 12.2:I understand most of the material in this section. One question: when testing functions for the existence of a limit by using lines (e.g.: x-axis, y-axis), is there some methodology for choosing other lines (the book uses y = x in one problem and y = 2x in another)?

I had no difficulty with the problems except #42 and #45, which called for d-e proofs of limits. I understand the method for d-e proofs with one variable, but I don’t understand the book’s explanation (page 804) for two variables.
