Question `q005. Solve the following system of simultaneous linear equations: 3a + 3b = 9
6a + 5b = 16.
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Your solution:
First step in the substitution method is to solve for y in the top equation, in which case you get y= -x + 3, the next step is to plug in the y equation in the bottom equation, in which case you get x=1
Then you take your x value back in the top equation, solving for y in which case you get y=2.

Question: `q006. Solve the following system of simultaneous linear equations using the method of elimination:
4a + 5b = 18
6a + 9b = 30.
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Your solution:
using the elimination method we see that 4 and 6 have a small LCM of 12 so we need to multiply the top by 3 and the bottom by -2, resulting in us getting 12a and -12a for our variables we want to cancel. After canceling we solve for b and find it to be 2, then we plug the 2 into either original equation, finding that a also equals 2.
