A typical automobile coasts up a typically paved incline, stops, and coasts back down to the same position. When it reaches this position, is it moving faster, slower or at the same speed as when it began?  Explain

answer/question/discussion:

It would be going slower since it would have to have a high enough initial velocity to over come gravity on the way up the ramp.

Gravity has to be considered in both directions; gravity speeds the car up again as it comes back down the ramp
