The explanation for this lab was pretty confusing. May I suggest more pictures for each step... It's just hard to know what you mean sometimes with things like the terminating cap, pressure-indicating tube, and since we aren't using stoppers anymore maybe those instructions should be removed....

** How does the system behave and how does it 'feel'? **

The water flows right down into the U-shaped part of the tube. But without an extra amount of force, it will not continue onto the level part of the tube.

** Length of the air column in units of your measuring device: **

I am using the average sized, regular ruler. I feel as though I am pretty accurate with it, and it hasn't given me any problems in the past. When I will be measuring the meniscus I feel as though measuring to the nearest 0.1cm will be accurate enough.

** Your report of the vertical position of the first mark relative to the water surface of the first mark, the length of the air column in units of your selected measuring device, and the two meniscus positions observed with each of your five trials. **

28.4cm

I obtained this result by measuring the amount of air remaining on both sides of the meniscus. From the meniscus the the end was 17.8cm, and from the other side of the meniscus to the bottle cap was 10.6cm.

** Your report of the vertical position of the second mark relative to the water surface of the first mark, the length of the air column in units of your selected measuring device, and the two meniscus positions observed with each of your five trials. **

The first of these numbers represent the vertical position of the water. The second numbers are the length of the air column
