I've graded the test and posted the grade.

You've done very well in this course, and it has been a pleasure working with you.

------>>>>> which greater voltage, which greater current

Finally, using the two 'slow-crank' bulbs, set up a series then a parallel circuit. In each, crank until both bulbs glow, with the dimmer bulb just barely glowing. Compare the force and the cranking rate required for the series with the force and cranking rate necessary for the parallel combination.

Recall that power is the rate at which work is done: power = force * distance /`dt.

• As determined from the force necessary to crank the generator and from the rates at which the generator was cranked, did the series or the parallel circuit seem to require the greater power?

• As determined from the brightness of the bulbs, which circuit seemed to require the greater power?

Answer below and give your best explanation of each answer.

From the cranking force I think the parallel circuit required greater power

From the brightness I think the series required greater power

I think the relationship is to achieve the same brightness in all bulbs the power will be equivalent, but force and cranking rate may vary depending on circuit configuration.

It appears that you are conjecturing your answers without having actually done the experiment.

You should have bulbs and other items (leads, etc.) in your materials package.

@&

If you ordered the materials package and did not receive the bulbs, which are packed into a piece of plastic tubing about 3 inches long, give me a list of what you did find in the materials package and I'll send you whatever is missing.

Naturally you'll need the generator, which you'll hopefully have soon.

@&

You will need to do this experiment when you have all the materials.
