** How does the system behave and how does it 'feel'? **

When I squeeze the apparatus, a column of water moves up the vertical tube, and the air column on the stopper side of the pressure tube gets smaller. There is alot of pressure already in the bottle because I had to apply alot force to move the air column just a little.

** Length of the air column in units of your measuring device: **

I have chosen to use a C-clamp to constrict the bottle. Each turn corresponds to 5-mm of constriction. I have chosen this because it is simple and it allows me to compare the deflection vs. pressure, which is decently effecient.

** Your report of the vertical position of the first mark relative to the water surface of the first mark, the length of the air column in units of your selected measuring device, and the two meniscus positions observed with each of your five trials. **

The air column nearest to the stopper is about 42 units long.

I measured this very simply. I cut off a piece of the paper an measured the distance from the end of the water column to the stopper.

** Your report of the vertical position of the second mark relative to the water surface of the first mark, the length of the air column in units of your selected measuring device, and the two meniscus positions observed with each of your five trials. **
