I went to take a test today and it had the last four problems stating it is optional for distance students. Is online class considered distance?

Do I have to do the problems that say optional for distance students since this is an online class?

This is a distance class.
You can do those problems with no risk. If they help your grade they would be counted; if not they would not be counted.
And of course you may just omit them.
