Archive.org allows you to preserve structure by allowing you to create any amount of folders and sub-folders (you can store any amount of files in any folder or sub-folder, as long as each file is less than 10GB). The only disadvantage is that you are not allowed to have spaces or special characters within file or folder names. You can even upload files to archive.org via ftp and your original files and file format will be preserved. Since archive.org is non-profit, it is free from advertisements. In archive.org, for every uploaded file, there are two links - one links that changes and another link that will not change. If the link begins with www.archive.org/detail/***, then the link will not change. If the link begins with something like ia700500.us.archive.org/19/items then this link might be change after some time.

As I went through the orientation, you mentioned that online video streaming does not have good enough video quality and for this reason, students must use DVDs.

Previously Youtube limited videos to 10 minutes. Currently, they removed the limit, so any user can upload videos of any length: http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=71673
Once you upload a video to Youtube, Youtube converts the video to their MP4 format. If you wish to preserve the original video format, you should consider the website archive.org. On archive.org, you can upload any amount of videos, but each video file must be less than 10GB. Once you upload the video it will stay on the website in it's original format for a very long time, as long as the video is not offensive and does not violate copyright laws.
Youtube is a commercial website, while archive.org is a non-profit library, yet both options are free. If have interest to move the videos to online but you need help or have questions, feel free to ask me.

Thanks. I remember you suggesting this a couple of years ago.
One impediment to YouTube, other than the advertisements and other irritations I want my students to be free from, is the problem of preserving folder structure and file references. I'm not sure I can create the file structure I would want, and I don't have time to manually recreate the debug thousands of links.
Do you know of a way around these problems?
