Random quiz 42

course PHY 121

An object is given an unknown initial velocity up a long ramp on which its acceleration is known to have magnitude 11 cm/s^2. .131 seconds later it passes a point 7.9 cm up the ramp from its initial position. •What are its possible initial velocities, and what is a possible scenario for each?

• What is the maximum distance the object travels up the ramp?

7.9 * .131 = 1.0349

7.9 + 1.0349 = 8.9349cm

"

The units of your first calculation would be cm * sec.

The units of your second would therefore be cm + cm * sec, and the two quantities could not be added.

You need to list the quantities v0, vf, `dt, a and `ds , and identify which ones you know for this interval.

As on the preceding submission, please do your best to identify these quantities, and submit a revision explaining your thinking. Even if your thinking isn't completely right, we'll have a good place to start.
