What does tan-1 mean? I don't understand how to solve for example
angle = tan-1 ( 1.92 / 2.81) = 34.3 degrees. How do I work this?
Thanks

To find tan^-1(1.92 / 2.81), first calculate the expression in parentheses, which is around .7.
tan^-1(.7) is found using the inverse-function button on your calculator, then the 'tan' button, then (.7).
Try it and let me know if it doesn't work.
