The problem:

Answer the following:

• How accurately do you think you can measure the time between two events using the TIMER program?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):

This depends on the length of time we are timing. If the time is greater than 2 seconds, then I feel we can get a fairly precise time. However if we need to time something for less than 2 seconds then we will lose precision more and more as our number decreases. This is caused by human error and lack of precision by the timer program.

• What is the shortest time interval you think you would be able to measure with reasonable accuracy?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):

I believe that for the human to be able to have enough time to react efficiently, then we are at least looking at 1 second and I would be more comfortable with 2 seconds.

• How does the percent error in timing intervals change as the time between the events gets smaller?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):

As the events get smaller in time our error gets larger. Not only does our human have to react quicker, but the timer program counts in increments and not continuously.

• How accurately are you able to measure the positions of the ball and the pendulum in the initial video?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):

This depends on many variables like camera position, which frame we are looking at , etc. Ther was a few frames where the pendulum was blurred and I was unsure where the pendulum exactly was. Then other times the pendulum and ball was clear, but the clock was in between times. So in some frames I could be real precise while in others I had a large percent of uncertainty. Also depending on the angle that I was looking at the pendulum would also affect my accuracy.
