I am going t take my PCAT next weekend. Last time I struggled on the quantative area some. the biggest problem was with fractions. Can you help me in the next week to review fractions. If you could start with multiplying and dividing them.
Here's a quick synopsis:
(a / b) * ( c / d) = (a * c) / (b * d)
(a / b) / ( c / d) = (a / b) * (d / c) = (a * d) / (b * c)
(a / c) + ( b / c) = ( a + b) / c.
a / b + c / d is NOT (a + c) / (b + d)
a / b + a / c is NOT a / (b + c).
I suggest you start by writing these out with a = 2, b = 3, c = 4 and d = 5 to see if they make sense.
Then write them out again with a = 2, b = 4, c = 3 and d = 6 and again see if they make sense.
Then bring me examples of some PCAT problems.
