The values of x are approaching zero because the x values continue to grow smaller and smaller. We could continue adding zeros and following the pattern to continue approaching zero. The values of 1 / x continue to increase ten times as we continue to approach zero. The graph will continue to get steeper and steeper and grow closer to the y axis but will never touch it.
