ball down ramp

Your work on ball down ramp has been received. Scroll down through the document to see any comments I might have inserted, and my final comment at the end.

Your general comment

Will a steeper ramp give greater or lesser time?

The interval will be the least on the steepest ramp.

As slopes increases will time intervals increase, decrease or show no pattern?

Your report of 5 trials each way for 2 dominoes

The accuracy of the experiment depends on many factors, including the level quality of the table and the piece of shelf board. Also the domino. It was difficult to move the domino and make the ball roll.

How do you think ave velocity is related to slope?

As the slope steepens, the average velocity of the ball increases. This is because the height of the dominoes added potential energy.

Speculate on why ave velocity changes with slope.

The potential energy is increased as the slope increases.

How could you test your speculations?

Refer to potential energy/kinetic energy calculations and verify whether slope is a factor. You could plug in numbers and keep other factors constant, except slope.

You have good data and clear answers to questions.

After the due date we will be discussing this experiment further via an online forum.
