If the revised program won't work, you probably do need to try to use a different computer. The program works on most computers, but every semester there seem to be one or two students whose computers won't run the program. I suspect is has something to do with graphics configurations, but I just don't have enough information to determine what the problem might be or how to fix it.
When you ran the revised program, did you get the same error message as before?
I can post a version tomorrow that won't try to write to a file on your computer, which is the difference between the TIMER and the TIMER WON'T FILE program.
