PHY 121
Your 'ball down ramp' report has been received. Scroll down through the document to see any comments I might have inserted, and my final comment at the end.
** Your general comment **
** Will a steeper ramp give greater or lesser time? **
I think it will be least for the steepest ramp, because the ball will gain speed as the ramp gets more steep.
** As slopes increases will time intervals increase, decrease or show no pattern? **
I think the time intervals would be increasing to decreasing. The ball would take longer to roll down the lower ramps due to the fact of not gaining momentum.

The first five numbers show how many seconds it took the ball to travel12.5cm on an incline until hitting the bracket. The following five numbers show how long it took the ball travels down 12.5cm on an incline until landing on the surface.

** Do your results support or fail to support your hypothesis about increasing or decreasing times? **
Yes, I predicted the ball would travel faster at more elevated slopes, because the ball gains momentum.
** How do you think ave velocity is related to slope? **
The ball gains velocity as it rolls down the ramp.
** Speculate on why ave velocity changes with slope. **
When the ramp is more elevated the bal gains momentum and the average velocity increases.
** How could you test your speculations? **
The time intervals continues downward as I raised the ramp. First the average was 1.11, second the average was .92 and last the average was .65, so you see the average times continue to derease, because the ball moves faster at a higher slope.
