An airplane on a runway has velocity 5 m/s at clock time t = 10 sec, when it is 89 meters from a certain roadkill, and velocity 8.6 m/s at clock time t = 16 sec. Between these two clock times it accelerates uniformly at .6 m/s/s. Find its velocity at the end of the time interval and its average velocity during this time interval. How far from the roadkill is the airplane at clock time t = 16 sec?

1. Vf= 8.6m/s

2. vAve= (Vf+Vo)/2

vAve= (8.6+5)/2

vAve= (13.6)/2

vAve= 6.8m/s

3.ds= vAve *dt

ds= 6.8 * 6

ds= 40.8m

Your solution is good and correct, but you don't explain how you got the 6 seconds to be multiplied by the 6.8 m/s average velocity.
