What are the average acceleration and final velocity of an object which accelerates uniformly from rest, traveling a distance of 69 cm from start to finish and ending up with a velocity of 18.1 cm/sec?Looking for avg acceleration and final velocity.
Final velocity= 18.1cm/sec
avg acceleration equals change in velocity over change in time.
To get time, I found average velocity.
Avg velocity= (final velocity+initial velocity)/2
Avg velocity= (18.1cm/sec+0cm/sec)/2=9.1cm/sec
If dist.=(rate*time) then
69cm=9.1cm/sec*time
time=7.6sec
avg acceleration=(18.1cm/sec-0cm/sec)/(7.6sec-0sec)
avg acceleration=2.4cm/sec^2"
Very good responses. Let me know if you have questions.
