I think that it depends on the weight of the object. If the steel ball weighs more then I would assume that it would have a greater acceleration than the marble.

If the steel ball is going to have a greater acceleration then I would assume that it would also have a greater change in the velocity. If it is moving faster then it will travel a further distance in a shorter amount of time and have a greater change in velocity.
